EBC officially opened on April 11. Rev Thomas Edwards, the driving force behind the establishment of the new church is appointed Superintendent

1916
Small church hall constructed alongside main building to accommodate growing number of young people joining the congregation

1932
The 21st anniversary of EBC is celebrated at Easter

1937
New church hall officially opened at a cost of £630

1939
EBC church hall designated a Rest Centre by the Air Raid Precaution Committee

1961
EBC celebrates its Golden Jubilee

1968
Old church premises demolished to make way for a completely new building

1970
New building officially opened on March 14

1977
Manse constructed

1984
Rev. Michael Bell joins as pastor

1993
Major extension to the church is completed. A celebration service is held on May 22nd

2000
Rev. Michael Bell retires

2001 
Rev. Randall Brown appointed pastor.

Rev. Darren, Rev. Melanie and their three children (Daisy, Molly and Thomas) leave EBC in July to move to Bromley Baptist Church, Kent

Jo Hellenbrand ordained as a Baptist Minister in December

Martin Wright appointed and ordained as a Baptist Minister in April

Rev. Jo Hellenbrand leaves EBC to follow a call to Shoeburyness & Thorpe Bay Baptist Church in January.
